Medha's MEP system is a 32 bit, high performance microprocessor based modular system that provides complete traction and propulsion control of the locomotive with continuous monitoring and extensive fault diagnostics.

Major functions include Engine control, Excitation control, Propulsion control, Wheel slip control, Auxiliary controls, Traction equipment protection, Fault Diagnostics, Data recording and Parameters display.

  • Excitation control – precise control of traction alternator (main generator) to maintain constant horse power

  • Vigilance control device – Multi-resetting type dead driver control, standard feature included in the system

  • Engine priming before cranking – When feature exists in the engine
  • Headlight control – Monitors and records headlight inputs
  • Alarm buzzer for critical faults – As per customer requirement
  • Memory freeze or data freeze switch – Stops data recording or overwriting in case of accidents
  • Provision for speedometer – Accurate measurement of loco speed based upon TM gear mounted speed sensor or axle mounted speed sensor)
